Harvest Monday - 4 March 2013

I can't believe its March! Where has the year gone so far? I have been so busy at work this past week that I missed out on Garden Gobbles on Thursday and Liz from Suburban Tomatoes Saturday spotlight, ekkk! Well I think the hectic-ness of last week has gone. Here is a quick run down of harvests(it was so busy I forgot to take photos, opps)
Lots of colours.
Basil - made a bunch of pesto and froze it.
The first Zucchini off my January sown plant.
This is a bad photo and I apologise. I can never tell what filter I'm using on my camera.

And in my opinion the most important of all, my first egg!!! so happy that my hens are laying now.

  1. All those beautiful summer vegetables! I'm just working on getting my spring veggies started, summer seems so far off...

    Great looking egg too.

    1. Spring is so exciting, all the planning and hopes for the coming Harvests. Summer will be there in no time and all the hard work now will be rewarded.

  2. Hurrah for that first egg! Love all that basil. I have some plants started that will be houseplants for me for quite a while but I have already started pinching off some leaves to toss into cooking. Nothing like fresh basil.

    1. Yes, the long awaited egg! everyday I came home and checked and now I finally have eggs :). I think I may and try to grow a basil plant over winter too, our house gets pretty cold but I think it would just grow slowly.

  3. Fabulous array of peppers in that first shot. Chillies or capsicums or some of each?

    1. They are all capsicums, most of them are from a Diggers 7 colour mix with a red Marconi for good measure.
