Capsicums or Peppers - what ever you call them I had a lot this week. I forgot to take pictures of the actual fruit but here is a pizza with some lovely red and green Marconi's.
Another ugly but delicious Wrinkled from Friuli. If you can't keep up with you Zucchini give this one a go, it grows slowly and the fruit is so much nicer than those 'black' varieties.
A fresh spinach, pan choy and rocket salad with cherry belle radish.
Borlotti beans - so pretty. I didn't get a very big harvest. I think I will just save the seeds for next year.
I think the 'Wrinkled from Friuli' is beautiful but then I am a fan of texture.
ReplyDeleteI really like the way it looks too, but I love growing things that you can't buy at the store. Most people would look at it and think it was inedible.
ReplyDeleteLove the look of those sliced peppers on the pizza! Yum!
ReplyDeleteThe beans are gorgeous looking too. So many fun varieties we can grow in our gardens.
It looks like Christmas on that pizza :) I love all the things we can grow that you will never see the super market!
DeleteMmm, Marconi peppers, those are good! Mmm again, pizza! I tried those Friuli squash a few years ago, but that was the year that I had really horrible soil and nothing grew well. I haven't tried them again, maybe I should give them another chance.
ReplyDeleteThe pizza was so yum. I would give the Friuli another go,the flavour is not quite as good as Costata which I like eating raw but its still way better than those black varieties. The texture is so firm that it doesn't go mushy, I have been slicing it and putting it on pizza and its still a lovely texture after 30 mins of cooking.
